Narrowbanding Compliance

For decades now the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has been in the process of figuring out how to move traditional two way radio users into the digital age. As of recent, the Commission has approved a plan going forward for the Narrowbanding initiative. There is an abundance of information being put forth as to what it all means to the end user, and what requirements are incumbent upon us as we move toward the 2013 Mandatory compliance date.

Will we be required to replace our radios?
Will we be required to update/change our current FCC License?
Are all radio services affected by Narrowbanding?
Will Narrowbanding affect my private Paging System?
What happens if I’m not Narrowband Compliant by the 2013 deadline?
What is Narrowbanding, and why are we doing it now after decades of discussion?
